Bacchus Marsh Flooring is a locally owned company that is dedicated to providing and installing the best quality carpet available. The owner has been in the carpet business for more than 30 years and knows the importance of excellent customer service along with a quality product. They use only Fully Trade Qualified installers and offer life time guarantees for their Australian made carpets.

Polypropylene carpets are the most popular for domestic use. They are very durable and the least expensive fiber for carpet. The carpet is fully synthetic, can be easily cleaned and resists mildew. It is an excellent carpet for children’s bedrooms and playrooms. Today, polypropylene carpets can be found in the latest trends including textured patterns, designs and the most fashionable colors  Loop pile polypropylene carpets don’t flatten as quickly as cut pile carpets. The main benefits of polypropylene carpets are:

• Excellent stain resistance
• Easy to clean
• Durable
• Color fast
• A good carpet for a low price

Nylon carpets have come a long way from times past. They are much more color fast because the fibers are dyed before weaving, unlike before when the carpet was dyed after weaving producing a faded effect. Nylon is a very durable fiber suitable for indoor and outdoor use. It is a good carpet for areas in the home that have high use such as hallways as well as places where food often spills such as dining rooms. Spills do not soak into the carpet quickly, so there is less chance for stains to develop. Because of the durability of the dye, stains can be removed with a bleach-based cleaner without damaging the color  Nylon carpet benefits include:

• Stain resistant
• Colorfast
• Good for indoor and outdoor
• Good for places with water such as bathrooms and patios
• Easy to clean
• The fibers hold their shape
• Low price tag

Wool has been used from the beginning of time for carpets. There are records of wool carpets from 8,000 years ago. Today, wool carpets are the top of the line and for good reason. Wool is the most resilient fiber and always bounces back after a lot of pressure from foot traffic. It responds well to professional cleaning and looks like new for years. Wool carpet is most often pure 100 per cent wool, but there are blends with nylon and polypropylene. Cut pile carpet may have 80 per cent wool and 20 per cent synthetic.

Wool blends are also very suitable for areas with heavy use such as stairs, hallways or entryways. Because of the structure of the fiber  wool is naturally stain resistant, but spills need to be cleaned quickly. It is less likely to harbor dust mites, but low quality wool may start pilling over time. It is also biodegradable and made from renewable sources. The main benefits of wool carpet are:

• Durable and long lasting
• Retains the height and shape of the pile
• Bounces back quickly from furniture compression
• Is flame retardant naturally
• Sustainable and environmentally friendly
• Stain resistant if cleaned quickly
